A native of Halifax now living in Montreal, Shari Hatt's work has been shown in solo and group exhibitions in galleries and museums in Canada and the United States. Hatt holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in photography and cinema from Concordia University in Montreal and was a Celanese International Research Fellow at the University of Nevada in Las Vegas - during which time she was the official photographer to the Liberace Museum there - has been an Artist in Residence at the Banff Centre on numerous occasions as well as the St. Norbert Arts and Cultural Centre in Winnipeg. In 2001 The Canada Council for the Arts awarded her the Duke and Duchess of York Prize in Photography. Hatt's photographs are in several collections including the Canada Council Art Bank, Ottawa; The Banff Centre for the Arts; The Cygnet Foundation, NYC; The Liberace Museum, Las Vegas; and Museum London, Ontario.
