A new Best Student Review category has been added for 2018 to recognize excellence in student writing.

The SAAG Writing Prize panel of judges includes: David Balzer, Editor-In-Chief of Canadian Art, art critic, writer, advocate, and curator; Dr. Carol Williams, Associate Professor and Chair of Women and Gender Studies at the University of Lethbridge; and Clayton Smith, Public Engagement Coordinator and Preparator at the Southern Alberta Art Gallery.
