Pedals and Public Art: A Downtown Lethbridge Cycling Tour

Free

An evening to explore the city’s public art in a fun and interactive way! This event is brought to you in partnership with Bike Lane, the Allied Arts Council of Lethbridge, the Southern Alberta Art Gallery Maansiksikaitsitapiitsinikssin, and the Galt Museum & Archives Akaisamitohkanao’pa, offering a unique opportunity to experience art, movement, and community all in one ride.

The journey begins at the Galt Museum & Archives, where Bike Lane will provide complimentary bike inspections to ensure everyone is road ready. After a brief overview of the route and a discussion on cycling safety, participants will embark on the public art bike crawl, discovering murals, sculptures, and other artistic landmarks scattered throughout downtown and area.

The ride will cover approximately 6 to 10 kilometers at a relaxed pace. As we explore, there will be plenty of opportunities to pause, take in the artwork, and discuss its significance. We will have one extended stop halfway through the trip at Confluence by Darcy Logan and Aaron Hagan. The tour will conclude at Theoretically Brewing (TBC), where we’ll gather to reflect on our discoveries while enjoying a refreshing summer treat.

This event is open to all ages, children must be accompanied by a caregiver. Participants are required to bring their own bicycles, helmets, and safety gear, and it’s recommended to bring a water bottle to stay hydrated. Please note that washrooms will not be available along the route.

To join the ride, advance registration is required, and tickets must be purchased at the Allied Arts Council at least two hours before the program starts.
