Introducing Bletcher Hour! The SAAG's new critical reading group that will take place on Thursdays from 6-7 pm. Bletcher Hour is named after our first librarian Mary Hazel Bletcher.

Readings will relate to current exhibitions and dig a little deeper to explore key themes in the work.

Bletcher Hour will be hosted by Tara Lynn MacDougall.

Tara is an interdisciplinary artist currently based in Lethbridge, AB. She holds an MFA in Art from the University of Lethbridge (2018) and a BFA from NSCAD University (2007). She is currently the Visitor Services & Volunteer Coordinator at the Southern Alberta Art Gallery. Her work has been presented in group exhibitions throughout Canada and the United States including the recent Dispersions through trapdoor ARC and Impossible Expectations at Hamilton Artists Inc. Her interest lies in a critical and humourous re-evaluation of the art historical canon, and reconsideration of distinctions between standard labour and artistic production.
