Marlene Creates   The Alberta Project

October 23, 1993 - November 24, 1993

Curator: Joan Stebbins
Organized by the Southern Alberta Art Gallery with funding assistance from the Alberta Foundation for the Arts and the Canada Council.

In conjunction with the travelling survey of her work, SAAG invited the Newfoundland artist to create a special site-specific work based on the Lethbridge landscape. This piece focuses on the relationship between language and the land, in particular on place names and prohibitive signage- designations that delineate our relationship to the earth and the uses we put it to. This exhibition as well contains both photographic and natural objects collected from the environs of Southern Alberta.
