July 10, 1993 - September 5, 1993

Curator: Joan Stebbins
Organized by the Southern Alberta Art Gallery in cooperation with the University of Lethbridge Art Gallery with funding assistance from the Alberta Foundation for the Arts.

In 1996 the Southern Alberta Art Gallery will celebrate twenty years of exhibitions. This summer the first in a series of four retrospective surveys highlights the initial five years of that history, using works largely borrowed from the extensive holdings of the University of Lethbridge. Included are works by artists such as Eric Fischl, Dennis Burton, John Clark, Gathie Falk, Otto Rogers, David Craven and Toni Onley (all of whom exhibited at SAAG between 1976 and 1980).

The exhibition serves to recognize not only this galleries auspicious beginnings, but also the depth and breadth of the U of L collections. This, and the three subsequent shows, will also celebrate the long-standing spirit of cooperation and mutual support between our two institutions through exchanges of ideas, artwork, equipment and expertise.
